Repair Cafés

Central to our mission at Sustainable Charlotte VT is supporting our neighbors in conserving resources – and building community along the way!

About twice a year, we come together at our Repair Café and connect our team of volunteer repairers with community members who have items in need of repair.

We share know-how (and food!), collect donations for the local food shelf, and work together to keep repairable items out of the landfill. Win-win-win!

In the past, we’ve had repairers fixing items from Appliances to Zippers, and everything in between!

If you’ve got items that need repair, subscribe here to stay connected and get updated when the next Repair Café is scheduled.  We post the information on Front Porch Forum also.

Better still, sign up to help us out!  If you’ve got fix-it skills to share, we can sure use your help.  But even if you’re not ready to jump in with your whetstone, screwdriver, or sewing machine – there is plenty for you to do.

You can sign up to set up and organize, help with the food (it is a “café”, after all), put up flyers, handle communications, or any number of other things that go into making the day a success.

You’ll make new friends and find the satisfaction of building community and keeping perfectly good stuff out of the landfill.
