Stories of Earth Activism
Earth Day 7:00 p.m. April 22, 2024
Charlotte Library
Let’s celebrate the ways we’ve protected the environment on Earth Day, April 22 at the Charlotte Library. Join with others to hear and share stories of people taking actions, small and large to make a difference.
Learn how local conservation organizations like the Lewis Creek Association, the Charlotte Energy Committee, and the Charlotte Conservation Commission got started. Participants will have the opportunity to share stories from their lives and dream with others about actions that can be taken in Charlotte and Vermont to protect our environment.
Earth Day, since it was founded in 1970, has inspired generations of people dedicated to protecting the environment and the natural resources we are dependent upon. They have done this through direct action and public campaigns, and by starting environmental organizations and educational programs. They have succeeded by directly confronting policy makers, legislators, powerful lobbyists, and industry polluters through the media and public demonstrations, and by adopting changes in their own lives that have less adverse effects on the environment.
This event is sponsored by Sustainable Charlotte and the Charlotte Library in celebration of Earth Day 2024. Refreshments will be offered.
